One tip: add a trundle for the inevitable Friday night sleepover.
Single over double (or King Single over Queen):
The sweet spot for a growing family. The upper bunk holds steady for your younger one while the lower double gives your older kid room to properly sprawl – or doubles (no pun intended) as a brilliant spare for sleepovers and visiting grandparents. Most parents also quietly claim it for themselves on movie nights.
Double over Double (or Queen over Queen):
For when both kids have outgrown singles but the shared room is staying. Doubles stacked vertically sounds like a big call – the Frankie carries it. A natural fit for siblings close in age, or a guest room that genuinely does right by two adults.
